London Rivers Week 2024: Citizen Science Water Quality Monitoring in the Thames Basin – Overview and Plans for the Future

June 25 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Free

Join this online webinar to find out about some of the citizen science water quality monitoring activities happening around the Thames Basin!

We will also talk about how, through projects like the Rivers Trust’s Catchment Systems Thinking Cooperative (CaSTCo) and Thames21’s EMPOWER Rivers, the data from citizen science activities like Hanna Checker monitoring, Outfall Safari, riverfly monitoring (RMI) and WaterBlitzes are being integrated with other water quality datasets (such as those produced by Thames Water and the Environment Agency) to create a new collaborative approach to understanding water quality issues and how to fix them in the long term. We will show some of the data that has already been collected by amazing citizen scientists, how it has been integrated with other datasets and the plans for the future. There will also be time at the end for questions and comments from participants.

Please register your interest here: https://book.plinth.org.uk/e/AltqfVroln6QuCJnVR2G, and then a link to the Zoom meeting will be sent to you.
